Michael Sloan

Directors – Michael and Laurel Sloan

Michael and Laurel set up TSI when they realised property investors needed help in evaluating potential properties. They wanted everyone to have the opportunity to purchase safely and securely, knowing their investment would provide a sound basis for growth. Both have had extensive experience in the property investment and related industries.

Michael’s role is to oversee the TSI team and ensure they have all the tools and information needed to make the TSI Client Experience a great one. “Our mission is to help you understand property investing and present you with sound opportunities, without pushing you into a purchase that is not right for you. I make sure that happens.”

Laurel’s role is to support the team and ensure clients have a positive experience every time they purchase an investment property.  

 

Director/Chairman –Paul Ebbels

A change management and business culture specialist, Paul has a background in developing and implementing business improvement strategies. He ensures the structured growth of the company, manages and mentors staff, sets and monitors budgets, and oversees the interstate branches. Paul also looks after and manages the head office in Victoria.

 

Executive Director – Ella Barclay

With extensive experience in the property investment industry, Ella is responsible for much of the day-to-day operation of the company, making sure standards are maintained and that systems and processes are working correctly.

 

State Manager, NSW/ACT –Alex Dutt

Alex runs the NSW/ACT office of TSI. He is a highly experienced investment expert with a thorough command of what constitutes astute property acquisitions.

 

State Manager, WA –Steve Fairbairn

Steve runs the Perth office of TSI. He is adept at making the process of property investment logical, simple and low risk. He gets a kick out of a client’s realisation that an investment property portfolio is not only attainable but also affordable.

 

Senior Consultants – Kathy Jarvis  (ACT) Emma Allen (NSW), Amanda Garrett and Linda Pierce  (Victoria)

TSI’s Senior Consultants work closely with clients to help them reach their personal wealth creation goals through property investing. They take them through the TSI ‘Client Experience’ and show them carefully selected properties that fit their individual situation.

 

Contract Administrator –Julie Barilo

It is Julie’s job to ensure the purchase process runs smoothly. She keeps clients up to date at every stage of the property purchase process, answering questions and following-up with others involved in the sale.  Julie thinks about the nitty-gritty detail of contracts so clients don’t have to.

 

Project & Marketing Coordinator –Catherine Nguyen

It is Catherine’s job to make sure that all the Senior Consultants and their clients have the tools they need to learn about the property opportunities available through TSI. Catherine is also responsible for arranging company events.

 

Client Experience Coordinator –Lauren Barry

Lauren is responsible for ensuring each client is well looked after throughout their experience with The Successful Investor. She is in constant communication with clients and is skilled at finding answers to all their questions.

 

Licenced Real Estate Agent – Linda Pierce

Linda manages TSI’s stringent property checking process. She evaluates all stock that comes to TSI from approved developers and selects the best property in the best location.Once approved, she notifies TSI’s consultants and the properties are offered to investors with matching criteria.

Aussies Hit By Financial Scams

Consumer Affairs Victoria estimates that Australians lose $57 million each year in investment and financial scams.

The CA office receives around 300 complaints about such scams annually.

It estimates that every year an estimated 5600 Victorians fall victim to financial advice scams.

The Successful Investor director Michael Sloan is unsurprised by the figures. He says unscrupulous real estate agents, property investor advisors and financial consultants are guilty of a number of strategies that at best are shady, at worst are borderline illegal.

One of these strategies is listing investment properties well above their fair market value. Michael Sloan says, “They then attempt to sell to potential buyers, especially people who don't live locally. When the owners decide to sell, they discover they will suffer an enormous financial loss, simply because they bought too high at the outset.”

Practices like this were the reason Michael Sloan and his wife Laurel set up The Successful Investor. He says they were tired of seeing hardworking Australians miss out on potential wealth because of bad advice, lack of knowledge and poor investment choices.

The Successful Investor has opened a new office in Western Australia.

Director Michael Sloan says the company's successful business model means it is expanding rapidly, requiring new offices across the country.

TSI has appointed Steve Fairbairn as State Manager for Western Australia. Steve brings with him a background in property and financial investment and is, says Michael Sloan, adept at making the process of property investment logical, simple and low risk.
